Talavera Tile: Blue and White Forever

Talavera Tile: Blue and White Forever

Our new blue and white Talavera tile line

By Clay Imports

These iconic blue-and-white clay tiles seen throughout Latin America, Portugal, and Spain are not just for ornate haciendas. We have curated a collection of designs, that can now be part of your project. Blending characteristics of Islamic art, Spanish tradition, and resources native to central Mexico, Talavera tile is one of our most fascinating offerings. Talavera tile is deeply ingrained in Mexican design and architecture.

Each piece is handmade. As a result, Talavera tile features natural variations and imperfections in each piece adding to its uniqueness. A beloved characteristic of Talavera tile is light crazing over time, which adds even more energy to this material. Square Talavera tiles measure approximately 4”x4” or 6”x6” with an approximate ¼” thickness.

Color wise, the Blue, and White Forever collection, features, well, blue and off-white glazes! Each tile has a high gloss finish and has been fired for durability. The texture of our Talavera tile is smooth. Consider these two-toned tiles to create a traditional Mexican-style courtyard or to add to a minimalist project to create extra interest.

You can install this tile in a variety of interior and exterior applications, as long as the tile is not exposed to extreme freezing. Talavera tile is also suitable for commercial, decorative use in restaurants or bars. This handmade product is functional, and beautiful and adds much character to any space. Furthermore, it is easy to care for and maintain. Read more about Talavera tile here.
